ROCK THE SCHOOL BELLS 12: HEART & SOUL

“You can’t get to the soul without first reaching the heart.”

Design direction for the 12th year of the award winning foundational youth event Rock The School Bells. The RTSB team saw it best to celebrate the significance of the number 12 as it pertains to the esoteric concept of coming full circle as well as the idea of [the] soul. We just as much wanted to celebrate hip hop as a means of healing, and how this art form with all it’s elements embody **heART** work. So for the 12th year we return to roots, and source – focusing on the Heart and Soul; of Hip-hop, of education, and of community.

The aesthetics were drawn from the heart and soul of hip hop it self; the vinyl record + soul and funk music. From these concepts branched a type face and identity system for all digital and printed collateral including; event flyers, stickers, merchandise, and workbooks.

Special thanks to: Nate Nevado, Kim Davalos, Matthew Ledesma + the whole RTSB Family.
